Meet Teddy — named after Theodore Roosevelt and ye

Meet Teddy — named after Theodore Roosevelt and yes, his portrait has had a nod to that.

I started the sketch and leaning a little bit more into Theodore Roosevelt, but I ultimately decided that it’s really about the charm, the ridiculous cuteness of Teddy so I shifted and let the painting become about joy instead of likeness alone.

this is exactly what I love to do.
My work isn’t meant to be a replica of the photo on your phone. It’s about pulling out the whimsy, silliness, and the spirit that makes your pet yours. Sometimes that means playful details, unexpected touches, or story woven into the piece.

This painting makes me go awww, every time I see it. It’s one of the sweetest ideas. I’m still smiling about this one.

It can live comfortably in the middle or at the beginning. The years of routines, shared glances, inside jokes, and the kind of companionship that doesn’t need explaining.

This hand painted dog portrait was created as a way to document a life being lived with fur, personality and a few strong opinions.

I’m starting my 2026 creative journey off right with a giant window installation with @unitedarts_cf

I’m also learning to pivot quickly in 2026 what went from a small window is now a giant window! So excited to flex my creative muscles so early in 2026!

As always after so many years of doing this, I get so nervous. Well, kind of a nervous excitement. But once I start going my nerves settle, and I get lost in the creativity.

I hope this inspires you guys to start 2026 with a creative journey. Sure getting healthy is important but so is creativity.
